These boots aren't made for walking

Just when you thought you'd got to grips with the six-inch Christian Louboutin heels that you've splashed out on, a boot-shoe comes along that tops them all. Yes girls, it's Mr Alexander McQueen and we're guessing even the models were feeling a little dizzy as he unveiled his latest 12-inch creations. The towering platforms were part of a Charles Darwin's The Origin of Species-themed collection which saw everything from amphibian prints to gills painted on models' temples. Our old friend the shaved eyebrow also made an appearance and, with hair shaped into horns of various sizes, this was clearly no high street fashion. What it was, however, was an extraordinary spectacle as each model tottered (well wouldn't you?) down the catwalk revealing ruffled, feather-like hemlines and vibrant reptile-skin prints. The morph into an underwater scene brought with it shimmering fabrics and crystal embellishments and a strangely other-worldly feel. As always with McQueen, it was a spectacle that had to be seen to be believed and as for the shoes... well, we suggest approaching only with extreme caution.
